Employees of the laboratory are highly qualified specialists in regional geology, structural geology, petrology of magmatic and metamorphic processes, geochronology, geochemistry and isotope geochemistry and, moreover, possess modern instrumental methods of geochronological, isotope-geochemical and geochemical research. At present, they are the only scientific team in Russia performing large-scale complex research in the field of isotope geology and geodynamics.

1. Clarification of the features of the formation and evolution of the continental crust of Central and East Asia
2. Development of new methodological approaches to geochronological studies of magmatic and metamorphic complexes

Over the past five years, the laboratory published 115 articles in scientific journals indexed in WoS, and 120 reports at scientific meetings of various rank.
